Day 6 and 7: on the road home again

Port Pirie
When we got to Port Pirie we spent a short time in the motel room horsing around and just enjoying not being in a car. Then we went back to the playground in the centre of town. While Sparrow and I played there, Robin and James took a walk down the street to find a place to eat. There was a nice Italian restaurant, Cafe Primo, with several nice dishes that was open. So for the first time in several days I managed to eat dinner before 6 pm :-) and very much enjoyed the blue swimmer crab pasta too. Afterwards we took a casual stroll back, hoping to find a geocache named "Big Steel Ships" along the way. We didn't - I was fairly sure it was across the water (as seen through the fence), James thought it might be further down in the customs-protected area of the docks. We took a drive to see if we could get any closer, but couldn't - we did work out the next morning that it was definitely the other side of the water and you'd need to cross by the footbridge. So instead we did a town geocache at the miniature railway station, then went back to the motel. I started sorting out camera and computer bits and heard a squeak from the two children on the bed. When I looked over, they were acting completely innocent as if there couldn't have possibly been anything worth my attention. They are really starting to have fun playing together. In the last photo Sparrow is bouncing and horsing around on the bed, and Robin is very clearly giving her the "That was good, do it again" look.

Getting on the road again
We took a quick walk around the block in Port Pirie before leaving, which was uneventful but I did like the identical expressions Robin and James gave me when I took a photo. Robin got to play with Sparrow's guitar while we finished packing the car. He's been lusting after it for most of the trip, and was delighted to finally get a go. And then we drove on, with the Flinders Ranges in the distance.
