There were a couple of days during this trip that were just about catching up with people, as well as moving from one place to another or maybe just having a quiet moment in a park somewhere.

Lunch at the cafe in Kojonup on the way from Albany to Dwellingup. Love the expression.

A stop by the river in Williams. This is at the same roadhouse that Chaldean the cat got lost at and spent a month living wild in the field just to the left of this photo. It's a pretty little park and place to sit and have icecream.

After Jasmine and George's wedding we had a Sunday of catching up with people. First visit was to Mel, Ken and little Jadzia, who were in the hospital in Kelmscott. Jadzia is maybe three days old at most in this photo. James and I were looking at her and saying to Sparrow "You used to be this tiny". We handed Sparrow to Mel and said "Here's one we prepared earlier".

We went to the Swancon barbeque in the park and met up with lots of people, several of whom claimed Spuddlecuddles. Here's some group shots of different moments and people as Sparrow meets many notables of the Western Australian science fiction community and many of James' and my long-term friends (some of whom were a bit pleased that we had finally ended up together after knowing us all these years).

A future convenor holds Sparrow.

Mum was leaving Perth in the afternoon - she'd been up for a rogaine (which I hadn't realised was actually *in* the suburbs, I'd just assumed it was "near" Perth somewhere). So we managed to cross paths at Nola's in Riverton as she went from Fremantle to Albany and we went from Kings Park to Forrestfield. Nola wasn't there though as we just missed her. I love the floral-ness of this picture.

And roleplaying. The guys are all hooked up to computers in Jay's living room. Almost all of them are here, but Dave in Sydney is still telecommuting so there are mikes around the place. Sparrow is delighted by all the cords and cables. She kept making a try for the stuff plugged into Pete's notebook.

Another moment of peace on another people day, sitting in Hyde Park between visits.

Sparrow happily played and played and played with her links, feet and hands all occupied. There was something distinctive about the way she played that I made a note of at the time but have since forgotten - perhaps it was that she was using her feet so effectively, not sure now.

As I tried to photograph her she kept rolling over towards me and trying to give me kisses or feed the links to me too. They were so tasty they obviously needed to be shared.

Who's this? It's Nola. We managed to get back across to Nola's when she was actually home to say hello, and it was delightful.

Sparrow had been escaping from the heat by wearing a damp cloth. She found her Daddy putting it on her head a little bemusing.

Last-minute-organised visit to Caroline and Mayo's. I'd meant to get in touch with them earlier but it had never come together. This is their youngest daughter, Bea, who has decided that James is scary and needs to be hidden from. Sparrow had a bath with Bea and Felicity and was the one who got in trouble for doing all the splashing :-) She loved watching the older two play chasy around the house afterwards, you could see her legs twitching, looking at the girls running and thinking "Now, how do I get up and do that?" She really really wanted to join in.

We're on the plane home - if you look carefully there you'll see airline seats. Sparrow's second plane flight is about to begin. This was the only photo that was even close to having her in focus.

At home again, finally. There was a toy on the floor that Sparrow hadn't seen for so long it was almost like brand new. So she was happy to lie there and burn off some energy playing with it after the flight.
