Trevor and Grandma come to visit, 30 September - 4 October, 2010

Hello, Trevor!

This lap's not too bad.

Shopping trip in Bunnings.

Trevor pushes the trolley.

Ooh! Grandma hug! I think that means I can get picked up off this steel table now.

A little lady sits elegantly in her highchair and explores a new toy, while Mum washes dishes. Mum picked up a bunch of similar-but-differently-coloured drink bottle lids out of the bottles waiting to be rinsed and gave them to her to start exploring and talking about. They've continued to be a popular toy, I found a few more colours in our collection and put them all in a tissue box for her to look at, take in and out, and generally study.

At the playground. Sparrow explains woodchips to Grandma (who probably knows a lot more about them after a lifetime of mulching than Sparrow realises!), and demonstrates how banging on that metal thing makes a good noise.

See, Grandma, I got up here myself.

In the random collection of books and toys Mum brought over was this purple witches hat, for when she's ready for dressup. Or for her to take to daycare where the other girls are definitely old enough for dressup. Sparrow was reasonably interested in it at least to start with, but getting a photo of her wearing it was tricky. She kept wanting to run off and it doesn't stay on that well yet (this photo is taken just as the hat is falling to the ground yet again :-). I liked it with the star dress though, that amused me.

Trevor and Sparrow have a game at the Playshak. Sparrow throws a ball out. Trevor picks it up and throws it back in to her.

Little Miss Chiff thinks that being on the bouncy castle while they're deflating it is awesome fun. Can't say I blame her.

Putting Trevor on the train to Seymour early Saturday morning. He's off to see his brother Murray.

Picking Trevor up again on Sunday evening, and saying hello to Murray and Jackie. Sparrow was much more patient with the extra driving out and back to Broadmeadows than we really had reason to expect after having spent most of the weekend driving around Cape Otway. She enjoyed wandering the MacDonalds, burning off energy and downing a surprisingly large babycino (it was the same size as a normal coffee or hot chocolate). She couldn't go on the playground as it was made for bigger kids, all ladders and enclosed slides that she couldn't get on or into, but she had fun watching the other kids playing anyway.
