A stop at the beach after daycare. Here I am optimistically thinking that we can just walk on the beach. Yeah, sort of. There had to be at least one sitting right down in the water though. And then on the sand.

So here's a certain little girl parading a wet sandy bottom up and down the beach. I do mean up and down, she was having a great time walking in the sand.

Investigating the pallets in the alley, while wearing a whole bunch of new clothes.

Maggie had brought over the jumper on her recent visit, it's one of her knits and it's wonderful and bright. My mum Sandra had brought the shirt, it's one I used to wear with red and blue boats on it. The pants are also Maggie-knit. And the shoes had just arrived by post, I ordered them from the Margaret River company Stompers. This is our first attempt at wearing them. They seemed to fit really well. Then after the walk I discovered that there was still paper packed in the tips. They're a good shoe. Pity I had to look in the "boys" section to get stars instead of flowers though.

Broccoli! Sparrow didn't want to wait til we got out of the fruit shop to eat it. Thankfully the counter ladies were more amused at her pre-sampling than bothered. It made good advertising for them I think. Sparrow ate most of the stem before we got home.

Out for a walk. Sparrow discovered that this house's front gate opened. There was much opening, closing and walking up and down the path while looking at me saying to her "No, enough" and trying to put just one foot further away.

We walked up to Rochelle's to catch up with some of the mothers' group. It's just up the street. Sparrow carried her pirate the whole way, though she did have to put it down once or twice for a little rest. She is surprisingly interested in it, it's the first stuffed-type toy I've really seen her play with. She's quite happy to interact with him, calls it something approximating BillyBob.

A short walk before we get in the car after daycare, just around the corner and back to explore a little. Sparrow always stops and looks at this big truck.

This way! She was quite cross with me that I made her turn around and go back to the car, which was now out of sight with several doors wide open (I'd been putting stuff in when she decided we were walking down the street).

Short walk at Newport. I loved the way her dress looked against the spangled patterns of the tree shadows.

Up! Up! She is asking me to help her go up this wall. It's a two storey (or at least one and a half) building, and the wall goes straight up with no features. She was a little upset that I wouldn't lift her to the top of it. I do not think she understands scale.

More shadows and light and lines.

Daddy, buy me a pony! We're at the second hand baby market. Sparrow found this little horse under one of the stalls herself and went to great effort to get it out where she could sit on it and ride. She charmed us, certainly charmed her Daddy (who gave me the pleading eyes too while saying "You don't object to this, do you?"). And she charmed several people walking by, two older ladies of which decided to take it upon themselves to negotiate with her Daddy on her behalf to get him to buy it for her. So it was sold, pretty promptly :-)

Got it home, and it's still just as popular. For the first day or two, anyway, then she started to forget it was there. But she loves riding it. I think it looks more like a cow than a pony, but I just can't remember to say "rocking cow" :-)

Waiting for me to get through the counter at Spotlight. I can't remember what I was buying, but she was being quite good about the waiting as long as she could sit on the bench.
