She's sleeping - she did a lot of that this month. Isn't she adorable? Or in ninja training, hard to tell which. Possibly both.

James' work sent us a congratulatory hamper. The poor courier had a lot of trouble finding us in the dark (it was 6 pm), wandering around carrying this thing. The total contents do come pretty close to fitting in the basket, but they weren't in it - they were taped to each other in this pyramid. It took us quite a while to disassemble with all the tape! Thankfully it wasn't nearly as pink as it could have been - the pinkness is mostly wrapping and decoration. And there's some quite useful stuff in it.

Playing with Daddy, waving our arms.

A rare shot of the three of us, taken by my mother when we went shopping at Highpoint. The baby carrier works well, and I'm quite happy for James to have his turn at carrying her -grin-.

Another shot of all three of us, at home together.

Dinner time. I was attempting to catch how she looks to me during this, and didn't do terribly well. It's kind of hard to aim the camera with one arm held over your head -smile-.

More sleeping shots, because she's adorable. Look, she has arms! Flying baby!

First notable experience of pain. I had her in the basket with me, paused to take a photo, she pooped and let out a HUGE wiggle, the basket started to topple, I caught it and her securely - and the camera hanging around my neck swung forward with the momentum and clonked her on the forehead. Sorry kid, Mummy is a doofus. I took a photo anyway.

More playtime with Daddy.

Nappy free time on the change mat, and also tummy time. She can push herself forward a ways, though it doesn't quite qualify as crawling (and won't for a few months yet). The main thing is that she gets practice holding herself up and holding her head in a different position, so that she'll be able to roll and crawl soon enough. If you look at her left leg you'll see the little birthmark on the back of it.

More tummy time. This photo makes it look like we have a lot of cables and cords. We probably do.

A visitor from WA! Ju stopped in to say hello. Here she's doing a sterling job of entertaining the baby with one finger. I like the Madonna-esque natureof this shot. Kaneda, you need to give this woman babies, she'll be a wonderful mum. Before she left, Ju also witnessed James and my signatures on Sparrow's birth registry form. So soon Sparrow (Lorelei Swain) Gwinnett will be a registered human being in the state of Victoria. Now I just have to get my arse into gear and get the British papers done for her. I think I have six months to submit those, but I'd better check.

More visitors! We called an open house afternoon on the Sunday of the long weekend, so that anyone who was free and wanted to could stop by. Most people were away for the long weekend (which we sort of expected), and that was fine - it meant there wouldn't be more people than we could cope with. Sparrow was fine, I was a bit tired, but we had fun. Here's Stuart, Leah, and Elly (the one with fur), plus James and Sparrow.

A day trip out. We went to the Boneo Maze and Wetlands, on the Mornington Peninsula. It was really pretty. She slept pretty much all the hour and a half + drive there, and the two and a half hour + drive back. We didn't get to play giant chess with her because it started raining just as we got to the board (and she would have been the cutest pawn!). But we did solve the biggest maze, and will have to go back for the other two.
